In a poignant display of solidarity and grief, Westlands MP aspirant Hon. Simba Richard Dixon alongside Karura Ward MCA aspirant Griffin Lidahuli alias MICROBE visited the upscale Runda home of the late former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo on Tuesday 17th December 2025.

The delegation, accompanied by Karura Ward ODM Secretary General Mr. Dennis Brown and Luhya Powerhouse group chairman Mr. Ambundo Matindi, met with Jirongo's widow, Mrs. Anne Lanoi Jirongo, to offer heartfelt condolences.

The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow as the leaders embraced the bereaved family, sharing memories of the charismatic politician who tragically lost his life in a grisly road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on December 13, 2025.

Earlier on, a postmortem report confirmed that the former Cabinet Minister and ex-Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo died from severe crush injuries to the chest sustained in a road crash in Naivasha.

Pathologists reported blunt force trauma, including multiple rib fractures, a perforated heart, extensive chest and abdominal injuries, and internal bleeding, which were deemed unsurvivable.

The examination also found fractures on the right hand and both lower limbs. Family doctor Martin Wanyoike stated the heart injuries were incompatible with life.

Hon. Simba spoke emotionally of Jirongo's enduring legacy in Kenyan politics and his unwavering commitment to the nation pledging continued support. Lidahuli echoed these sentiments, emphasizing unity in mourning. The visit underscored the profound loss felt across political divides, reminding all of life's fragility amid the festive season.

Jirongo was a relentless go-getter, a seasoned businessman, and a consummate politician who refused to be defined, let alone defeated, by life’s challenges. He  will be laid to rest on 30th December 2025 at his home in Lugari.
